Chameleon. 2009. Acrylic on canvas,105x74 cm
These two images, the chameleon and the praying mantis, come from a series of works inspired by looking into nature, particularly at creatures that generally remain hidden and require you to look attentively in order to find them. They blend into the colors of the image and the details of their surrounding world. The chameleon is depicted with the dragonfly that it hunts, while the praying mantis eyes the fly that is its prey. Each image also includes a human figure, but it is small and insignificant compared to the other creatures. In this world, they all exist as part of the natural cycle of life, one hunting the next, but within these images, they all exist in harmony.
